The Negele Borena are nomadic people in the south of Ethiopia near the Kenya border. It was an amazing experience to hear them talk about the struggle to get clean water for their families. While interviewing one of the nomads it came out that they used to walk 6 hours to an open water hole, to fill up their containers with contaminated water. They would start the walk in the evening so they would be back in the morning, avoiding the midday heat. Now that the HOPE International borehole was in the area they only had to walk 2 hours to the clean water supply! We don't know how good we have it... Not the easiest images to scan, blaming the potholed roads and general travel stress for the lack of great images, nonetheless, it was an unique opportunity to be with the nomads for the few hours.
